Chess is skill, so the contract is a pure wager escrow — the board and every rule are refereed in your browser by a perft-verified engine, and moves are logged on-chain in order.
• Decisive game: the loser resigns (or concedes a checkmate) and the winner is paid the pot.
• Draw: both players agree — the stakes refund.
• Stall or dispute: after the move deadline either player claims a refund. Because the only outcomes are concede / agree / refund, no one can ever be robbed — at worst a wager voids. (Automatic on-chain checkmate enforcement is a planned upgrade; the contract is upgradable.)
